All listing signs must follow specific guidelines to ensure compliance and professionalism. Always verify sign specifications with Relive's residential support contact, Abby Steele, before ordering or placing signs at a property.
What information is a mandatory requisite from TREC to be feature on a listing sign from a real estate agent?
Based on TREC (Texas Real Estate Commission) rules, yard signs for licensed real estate agents in Texas must include:
- The name of the license holder placing the advertisement
- The broker's name in at least half the size of the largest contact information contained in the advertisement
Unlike road signs, yard signs are exempt from the requirement to include a designation that clearly identifies the person as a real estate agent (such as "agent," "broker," or "REALTOR®").
However, the yard sign must still comply with all other TREC advertising requirements.
Before placing any "for sale" or lease sign on a property, agents must obtain written consent through the listing agreement.
